Arrow IT’S GROSS-You might end your shift with some dog hair, slobber, or paw prints on your clothes. Cleaning up after pets, including scooping cat litter boxes and picking up poop/vomit, is part of the work.

 

 

                                              Job Description

Position: Pet Care Specialist (Tier 1) Professional Pet Sitter / Dog Walker / Cat Sitter/ Veterinary Technician

Purpose:
Provide peace of mind to pet families knowing their pets are safe, happy, and well-cared-for so they can go do HUMAN THINGS

Primary Duties:

  • Arrive to visits during 2-hour windows
  • Complete pet care & basic home care needs
  • Create client updates after each visit using our portal with clear, professional communication
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent service

We are looking for passionate animal lovers to join our team and provide top-notch care for pets in the South Lakeland, Downtown LKLD and Highlands City area.

Scheduling + Availability

We cover 7 time windows daily:

  • 7–9am | 9–11am | 11–1pm | 1–3pm | 3–5pm | 5–7pm | 7–9:30pm

HIRING FOR:

  • Pet care visits available: 7am–9:30pm, Monday–Sunday
  • All Holidays:  Staff get evenly divided amongst all holidays with input

Flexibility + Hours:

  • You choose your schedule—no guaranteed hours due to the nature of the business
  • Minimum: 8 hours/month
  • Goal: 15+ hours/month by the 90-day probation

Ideal for: Students, stay-at-home parents, work-from-home professionals, or anyone who loves the outdoors, animals, and flexible part-time work

    Mulberry and Bartow Fl (33860 + 33830)
  • Drive area includes from Downtown Lakeland, to County Line Road, SR 60 and Bartow Rd/Bartow

Education + Training Requirements

  • Certified Professional Pet Sitter: If not certified, Atta Boy! pays for your certification. Must complete online certification within 30 days (~14 hours).
  • Access to professional pet care certifications: Pet Health & Wellness, Behaviors, Training, Equipment, Bite Prevention, Dog Walking, Hemp & CBD, Customer Service, Pet Breeds, First Aid, and more

    Are you hiring full or part time? What is the pay?

    All positions are part time employee positions with an average of 0-20 hours per week. Pet Sitting is based on when clients work and travel- and that changes every week- so every week is different! All new hires start at $16/hr + 100% of any tips

    How do I get paid?

    Bi-Weekly payroll, direct deposit to account(s) of your choice.

    What are the education requirements?

     Certified Professional Pet Sitter- if not currently certified Company will pay for the certification fees for the new hire. New Hire must complete online certifications within the first 1 month/ 30 days virtual- flexible anytime via webinars . Total Time: 14 hours

    Are there minimum qualifications?

    Yes,

    • Ability to walk 2 mile in 30 minutes, lift 30 lbs, to bend, stoop, and reach in order to perform pet care duties.
    • Must be comfortable to take and be in video + photo and edit on cell phone
    • Knowledge or willingness for continued education in animal care.
    • Must be flexible to ‘think on your feet’ + willing to work in a diverse and energetic environment.
    • Ability to work effectively in varied venues + think on your feet.
    • Personal automobile that can carry an animal, if needed in emergency required
    • Documentation of required automobile insurance, license + safe driving record.
    • Personal smart phone with data plan required.
    • Acceptance of policies, safety procedures + the “secret sauce” of ABAC

    • Pass criminal background check
    • Ability to work varying schedules based on your availability and when clients schedule their needs.
    What does a Pet Care Specialist actually do?

     

    Simple Answer, a little bit of everything. More Complex answer:

    • Review each clients pet portal for all care, behavior and home needs.
    • Arrive to visits during our flexible or customized Morning, Midday, Dinner + Bedtime visit windows.
    • Complete tasks and care routines of pets and home provided by the company, to fulfill the clients needs.
    • Create + complete client update after each visit using our online portal with appropriate grammar that encompasses all important information client may want/need and to provide them peace of mind knowing visits were completed successfully.
    • Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with management+ other team members.
    • Collaborate with other team member to complete pet care services .
    • Participate in the development of yearly financial goals for yourself + the company.
    • Perform special assignments and/or other duties as assigned by management.
    What species of animals do you care for?

       If it is legal to own, we care for it! Our most common pets include cats, dogs, + chickens. But we also care for birds, exotics, pocket pets, reptiles, amphibians, bugs and farm animals.

    Do I have to care for aggressive animals?

     No, we do not care for pets that have human based aggression.
