Hello!

I have been a full time in-home pet sitter+dog walker provider and company owner over 7 years, and part time for 16 years and in that time, I have been lucky to care for pets in the best of times and the worst of times

I grew up starting in Middle school in a VERY TINY COUNTRY TOWN called Alva, Fl – 2 hours south of Lakeland.

When I was 15, I started training at a local horse farm to care for pony’s ( small ones), quarter horses (medium ones) all the way up to draft horse (WHOA big).

I then started providing pet sitting, farm sitting, horse care and random other jobs to our local neighbors and town thanks to a little flyers with the title “Amber’s Job Services”. I was lucky to work with many small and large horse farms that also had other pets- goats, dogs, cats, and more!

I then started working in a Veterinary Clinic when I was 17- starting shadowing the Veterinarian after school, then then Kennel/Boarding, then becoming trained as a Veterinary Assistant and finally Nurse/Technician.

At 18 years old I was accepted into the University of Florida’s Animal Science program and for the next four years immersed myself into Shelter Medicine, Neo-Natal Foal Care, Animal Management, Agricultural Law and yes, the beloved Humanities courses such as Native American Religion.

I volunteered at the local Humane Society, a local Spay/Neuter Clinic Truck and was also lead technician at a Cat Rescue with over 150 cats called Feisty Acres for all those years. I worked a Veterinary Nurse/Technician every summer in different areas of the state to learn different managing ways, medical practice ideals, and the human/animal bond.

After Graduating from UF I worked at a Tampa Bay area Veterinary Office and then worked at Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Developing STEM ( Science, Tech, Engineering and Math) based programs for girls K-12 and developed a career program Called “Operation Pawprint” teaching Girls career paths in the animal field.

ok, ok- whew- hello Resume! When my now husband and I moved to Lakeland/Mulberry after buying our first home here due to great housing prices, small town feel and some property I saw a huge need for a PROFESSIONAL pet sitter who had an extensive animal medical background, knowledge and LOVE of pets- and thus, Atta Boy! Animal Care was born. In 2018 I became a CPPS – Certified Professional Pet Sitter through PSI- Pet Sitters International. I continue to to be an advocate for our local adoption community- animal and humans alike, and raise the bar for pet care professionals.

Most people are surprised when I tell them I am a full time pet sitting company owner, after doing it solo for a few years and now have over 9 sitters and 2 administrators on our team! If I had a dime for every time I heard, “You can pay all your bills doing THAT?!” I wouldn’t ever have to walk a dog in the pouring rain again, or pick up poop- ha! I have personally cared for thousands of animals all around Florida. I have done farm visits in North Florida with horses, goats, over 50 chickens and dogs while they traveled to a family wedding. I traveled to Northwest Florida to personally manage an African Grey Parrot farm with dozens of breeding pairs, plus their dogs while they took a vacation. Atta Boy! Animal Care has been hired by over 100 families and their pets since being in business for 6 years- and over 75% of them are still with us today. ( almost all who left were due to moving, job changes, or loss of pet). We take pride in provide clean, happy, attention driven, kind and detail orientated professional care to your pets and home while you are away. We donate to local rescues financially and goods wise. I personally am in process of starting a non-profit to help families who are going though or have gone through the Human Adoption process called ‘Adoption Village’
