August 26th – How Do You Celebrate National Dog Day?

Here are a few ways to celebrate the dogs in your life ( we’re talking of the canine variety here people!)

Per National Dog Day (.com) – The day celebrates all breeds, pure and mixed and serves to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, either from public shelters, rescues and pure breed rescues. National Dog Day honors family dogs and dogs that work selflessly to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Dogs put their lives on the line every day – for their law enforcement partner, for their blind companion, for the disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage.

1.  Take Your Dog on a HIKE! Dogs love running around outside and sticking their nose in all kinds of things. Plan a fun walk or day at the park with your puppers! 2. Custom Dog Cake! Our Friends at Benson’s in Lakeland can create a dog safe cake for him and his other pooch friends to enjoy! 3.  Donate to a shelter, Canine Therapy Program or K9 Rescue Unit. Animal Rescues are ALWAYS in need of many supplies -Used Newspaper, Towels, and of course food + treats! Therapy Programs and K9 Rescues- donate to their fundraisers! 4.  Spa Day. Have your pup get a good spa day in at your local groomers! Some even have blueberry facials! 5.  TOYS! Choose an option of a type of toy he doesn’t have yet- and let him go to town! We wish you and your pup(s) a HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! As as we always say…
